Description
This is Impa my little impulse buy fishie.
I went to the garden centre today with my boyfriend and I almost didn't see her because the tank with the female betta was blocked the first time I went round the tanks, but after having our cake in the cafe, I had a massive urge to go back and have a look and there she was! She stole my heart as soon as I saw her and I simply had to have her. She is one of the many beautiful reasons why having a spare cycled filter in one of your tanks is such a good idea! It was clearly fate
Impa is currently living in a breeder box in my planted 19g tank while I have a chance to buy a heater as that is the one thing I don't have. She'll only be there a few days, but she doesn't seem bothered at all. After losing quite a lot of her colour on the journey home, she has coloured up beautifully and her stress stripes have faded a lot. The guppies and otocinclus have all been up to say hello too!
Impa is a purpley pink veiltail female Siamese Fighting Fish (Betta Splenden).
EDIT:
4 months later and Impa has developed into a beautiful MALE plakat This goes to show to never trust the labelling in fish shops. Impa was clearly very young when I bought him so gender was difficult to assess. Impa is now in a divided 20g tank with two other males. It's always good to have a back up plan when keep betta splendens

XD nice fishie! The story is hilarious, he's amazing! I love the magenta and rich navy, it's similar to the betta in my avatar! Hey you should consider commissioning thetauche for a pixelfish!
